Economic Survey calls for fiscal flexibility for the Centre, cautions States against worsening finances

The Economic Survey argued that, while the Centre has managed to substantially improve its fiscal deficit ratios since the COVID-19 pandemic, the States have seen their finances worsen over this period due to falling revenue and higher spending on unconditional cash transfers
