Despite nesting decline, Wayanad’s vultures still soar

Although breeding has declined, experts say there is no immediate cause for concern as the vulture population in Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary remains stable, with around 80 vultures recorded. Human disturbances can disrupt vulture breeding, while invasive species like Senna threaten the growth of native trees, further impacting nesting and foraging habitats.
