Over the last decade, the Indian Air Force has been asking for a new generation of fighter jets. With the MiG-21 now decommissioned, the number of squadrons that fly fighter jets is 70% lower than the sanctioned strength. Delay in indigenous manufacture and international procurement is the reason behind the ‘immediate gap’
